The Egyptian Tourism Ministry participated in preparing a statement issued by the tourism committee of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
This came on the occasion of holding a high-level conference of the committee, on its centennial anniversary, in the presence of tourism ministers, heads of tourism authorities, tourism officials and businessmen of the tourism sector to discuss means to support sustainable tourism.
The statement asserted that tourism is a means to boost economy and comprehensive growth.
The talks took up the policies and effective programs followed to achieve long-term strategic aims to develop tourism.
The conference focused on cooperation among the governments, state institutions and the private sector to set long-term mechanisms and plans to accomplish the strategic targets of the state and activate tourism.
The discussions tackled the role of the environment and climate change in altering the tourism map in the future and paying attention to the investments directed to developing sustainable and comprehensive tourism.
