The consolidating of the existing cultural cooperation between Umeå in Sweden and the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism & Culture remains a priority for Alain St.Ange, the new Minister for Tourism and Culture, and for Ms. Benjamine Rose, his Principle Secretary. This message was conveyed to Mr. Hokan From of Umeå Sweden at the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Seychelles School of Music and Midgardsskolan of Sweden, when a collection of Roy Benson trumpets were presented to Minister St.Ange for the School of Music. “We are all relooking at the way forward with a new eye to ensure we are able as a Ministry to unlock all the cultural potentials of our country and its people. The cooperation with Sweden is already providing for one young Seychellois to be following training in Sweden in the field of music. We are now working with Mr. Hokan From to follow-up on the possibility for a second young Seychellois to be able to travel to Sweden to also open her horizon in the field of music,” said Minister St.Ange. The support being received from Sweden for the continued development of culture in Seychelles is appreciated by all in the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and in the School of Music.
