Beijing - Xinhua

As the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday comes to an end, huge numbers of returning college students and workers have once again flooded railway stations across the country. On Monday, the Ministry of Railways put 704 more trains into service to cope with the 4.58 million passenger flow. And on Tuesday, with the increase of travelers, 760 additional trains were put into operation. In southern China, the Guangzhou Railway Group is sending 720, 000 passengers on their way on Tuesday. The Ministry says the railway between the major hubs of Wuhan and Guangzhou is able to carry 170 thousand people every day. The authority also says that about 105 million passenger trips have been made on railways during the annual travel rush this year.
