The 6th annual conference on Middle East Aviation Safety, organized by the Bahrain Defence Force, represented by the Royal Bahrain Air Force (RBAF), kick started here today.During the opening ceremony, RBAF Commander Brigadier-General Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa delivered a statement in which he asserted that the event is a platform where participants can avail of each other's expertise and exchange views and information in the aviation field.He also indicated that holding such a key event in the kingdom testifies to the major role played by BDF in enhancing joint cooperation in this vital sector, noting that the conference promotes team work among participants, which, he said, will help address the main issues and come up with useful solutions and recommendations for the joint interests of the participating countries.Then, Deputy Commander of the U.S. Air Forces Central Command Major James Jones delivered another statement in which he praised the efforts made by BDF to ensure the success of the conference.It is to be noted that the two-day event includes a number of lectures on ways of modernizing and improving the safety systems of air forces.
