A delegation from Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) chaired by CEO Shaikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa is participating in the 22nd United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) being hosted by China on September 11-16.
Several topics will be discussed, including how to advance the contribution of tourism to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the possibility of converting the WTO Code of Ethics into a recognized international convention with a view to determining the current trends of tourism sector.
The WTO celebrations of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development 2017 will also be discussed, as well as holding a special session on smart tourism.
BETEA CEO expressed delight in taking part in the international event to help achieve Bahrain's long-term tourism vision under the leadership's directives.
