Abu Dhabi International Airport reported more than a million passengers in October for the fourth consecutive month, its operator has revealed. Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) said 1.06 million passengers passed through its facilities during the month, registering a 17.2 percent increase over the same month last year. This recent increase in passenger traffic is credited to new airline launches as well as new destinations introduced this year. Double digit growth was also recorded in cargo movements, which saw an 11 percent mark up this October in comparison with October last year. Harib Al Hameli, vice president operations, Abu Dhabi International Airport, said: "We are delighted to witness the positive performance of the capital's airport as it establishes itself as a trend that is improving throughout the year. "We are continuously eager to develop and grow our services and offerings in line with the anticipated growth in business and tourism travel, as Abu Dhabi continues to position itself as a key international destination for trade and leisure." Recent refurbishment works in T1 have included increased numbers of self check-in kiosks, and check-in and immigration counters, and improved customer services throughout the airport, ADAC said in a statement. With regards to top destinations during this month, London, Doha, Bangkok, Manila and Frankfurt were listed as the top five for October.
