Cimatheque’s archival programme Revisiting Memory, that launched 4 June, is “an attempt to widen the conversation about cinema, ownership of history, and the veracity of contentious narratives.”

Circumnavigation programme, curated by Rana El-Nemr, will take place on 13 June, within Cimatheque’s Revisiting Memory week.

The evening will present films from Cimatheque's archive by Aiyat El-Abnodi, Ali and Hossam Moheeb and Tahani Rached, a video installation by architect and artist Samir El-Kordy, as well as a written text by Mia Jankowicz exploring the issues of performance and public spaces, and a talk by Rana El-Nemr.

Programme: Saturday 13 June, 4 pm

Short film- Sad Song of Touha, Aiyat El-Abnodi (1972)

Short film- The White Line, Ali and Hossam Moheeb (1962)

Video installation- A Monument of Buzzwords (MOB),

Samir El Kordy in collaboration with Pericentre Projects

Talk by Rana El Nemr, and text written by Mia Jankowicz exploring the issues of performance and public spaces.

7 pm

Documentary: Giran, Tahani Rached (2009)

Screened in the presence of Tahani Rached, followed by a Q & A with the director, moderated by Rana ElNemr.

Revisting Memory programme continues until 17 June.

All events will be held at Cimatheque,19a Adly Street, Downtown, Cairo.
