Sony Pictures Classics released the first image of Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old English actor recreated an iconic 1948 photo of the late American country star for the promo. Hiddleston will portray Williams in new biopic I Saw the Light, which is titled after the singer's 1948 song of the same name.
The movie is written and directed by Flash of Genius helmer Marc Abraham, and opens in theaters Nov. 27. Elizabeth Olsen co-stars as Williams' first wife and manager Audrey Sheppard Williams, with Maddie Hasson as Williams' second wife Billie Jean.
The film will follow Williams' sudden rise to stardom and abrupt death at age 29. The singer came to fame in Montgomery, Ala., and had 11 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Country chart before dying of drug and alcohol-related heart failure in 1953.
