Katie Holmes posts throwback 'Dawson's Creek' photo

Talk about old school.

Katie Holmes threw fans back over a decade when she posted a nostalgic photo of herself as the down to earth Dawson's Creek character Joey Potter, in honor of Throwback Thursday on Instagram.

The pic was of her 1998 cover of Rolling Stones, where a 19-year-old Holmes posed on a tire swing gazing innocently into the camera wearing the classic denim shorts and tank top combo.

Holmes captioned the pic, "#TBT the tire swing!"

According to People magazine, the 36-year-old actress still knows how to have some "old fashion fun."

Recently Holmes posted a video of herself engaging in some summer activities, such as eating fruit, riding a bike, jumping into a pool and jamming to tunes on the radio.

She captioned it, "#summer15 Happy Monday."
