Justin Bieber took to the airwaves Wednesday to announce his new single, "What Do You Mean?" on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.
The singer said the single will be released in exactly 30 days, following a clandestine Twitter post that hinted at an announcement planned for the singer's interview on Wednesday.
Shortly after 8 a.m., Seacrest invited Bieber on the show and began talking about Bieber's recent work and his attraction to skateboarding. Following a commercial break, Bieber hyped up the imminent announcement by expressing the struggle he undergoes in the studio as he tries to ensure his work is the best he can produce for his fans.
He then announced the song's release, slated for August 28, adding that the single was produced by Poo Bear. The new single is about the "flip-floppy" attitude Bieber feels some girls display when they say something but in reality mean something else. He also said the song is a "fun, summery" and uptempo single.
The song will also be featured on Bieber's next studio album, which is anticipated but unconfirmed. Bieber's "Where Are U Now" will be one of the songs on that album, which he will perform alongside Skrillex during Billboard's first-ever Hot 100 Festival in August. The song, which Bieber adds bears a resemblance to his newly announced single, has peaked at number eight on the Hot 100 chart and is at the 13th spot this week.
