The Tanner household wasn't as welcoming as you may think.
Uncle Jesse himself, John Stamos while promoting his new Fox show Grandfathered, admitted that he did suggest to producers to replace Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Seen in the first clip released from Lifetime's Unauthorized Full House Story, a behind the scenes movie about the making of Full House, John Stamos (Justin Gaston) is seen complaining about how long it takes to complete a scene with the inexperienced and young Olsen twins.
"It is sort of true that the Olsen twins cried a lot," the Full House star said referring to the footage. "It was very difficult to get that shot. So that is actually 100 percent accurate."
Eventually the producers did try to bring in new actresses, but it never quite panned out and Uncle Jesse did have some mercy.
"We tried that for a while and that didn't work. We were like, all right, get the Olsen twins back. And that's the story!"
Stamos, now a producer on Netflix's upcoming 13-episode sequel Fuller House is taking the Lifetime movie in stride however. "I find humor in all of it," he said.
Fuller House hits Netflix in 2016 while The Unauthorized Full House Story debuts August 22 on Lifetime while Grandfathered premieres Sept. 29 on Fox.
