Jenna Dewan-Tatum has joined the cast of Supergirl.
The 34-year-old actress will play DC Comics character Lucy Lane on the upcoming CBS series. The network described Lucy as the "funny" and "brash" younger sister of Lois Lane, who is not slated to appear on the program.
Dewan-Tatum confirmed her casting after CBS announced the news Monday, tweeting, "So excited to share with you guys and join this awesome show!" The network revealed her character has history with Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), and travels to National City to "right a previous wrong."
Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, aka Kara Danvers and Supergirl, and will premiere Oct. 26. The series will see the superhero embrace and begin to use her powers, and co-stars Calista Flockhart, David Harewood and Chyler Leigh.
Arrow and The Flash executive producer Greg Bertlanti co-wrote the pilot with Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg, and will co-executive produce with Adler and Sarah Schechter. Arrow and The Flash have been renewed for season 4 and 2, respectively, at The CW.
Dewan-Tatum is known for portraying Teresa Morrison on American Horror Story: Asylum and Freya Beauchamp on Witches of East End. The actress is married to Channing Tatum, and shares two-year-old daughter Everly with the actor.
