Starz's new horror-comedy series Ash vs Evil Dead is scheduled to premiere Oct. 31.
The cable television network released the first, live-action trailer for the program during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend. It can now be viewed online.
The first season will feature 10, half-hour episodes. It is executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell -- the original filmmakers of the franchise -- and Craig DiGregorio, who serves as executive producer and showrunner.
Ash vs Evil Dead, which is currently in production in New Zealand, is the followup to the classic Evil Dead films. The show co-stars Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Jill Marie Jones.
"Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons -- personal and literal," a synopsis said. "Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its 'Evil' grip."
