Leaders of a number of political parties will hold a workshop Thursday on a "unified project" initiative.
The meeting will focus on the role parties should play in the coming stage and their attempts to amend parliamentary elections law.
Leader of Karama Party Mohamed Sami urged Monday the government of Ibrahim Mahlab to live up to its political responsibilities in this regard.
He touched upon fatal mistakes by the panel in charge of amending the law, noting that amendments were eventually annulled by court.
The "unified project" initiative is, according to Sami, the last chance for parties to share their visions regarding the parliamentary elections law.
He made it clear that parties of the initiative will refer their proposals to the presidency and not the Cabinet or the panel.
For his part, Amr Hashem Rabie, a member of the legislative infrastructure reform committee, said they will discuss the outcome of the "unified project" initiative to decide on possible coordination between the two sides in the coming days.
