The Egyptian-Kenyan Business Council will convene its first meeting at the end of July for talks on means of activating trade and economic relations between the two countries.
In statements to MENA, Head of the Egyptian side to the Council, Hossam Farid said the meeting will probe arrangements for a visit by an Egyptian business delegation to Nairobi that will be the biggest of its kind in the history of relations between Egypt and African countries.
He said the Egyptian delegation will group more than 160 businessmen representing five exporting sectors including engineering, chemicals, building and construction as well as pharmaceuticals.
Farid also said the mission will start in late September or early October after coordination with the ministries of trade and industry as well as the exporting councils of the engineering, chemicals and construction councils.
The Council will invite Minister of Industry Tarek Qabil to lead the Egyptian business mission that aims at expanding trade relations with Africa in general and Kenya in particular, Farid added.
