President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will attend a ceremony marking the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Thursday.
The event will be organized by the Awqaf Ministry and will be attended by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed El Tayyeb, Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal, Pope Towadros II of Alexandria, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and a number of Egyptian ministers, officials and ambassadors.
Sisi is due to deliver a speech to the Islamic and Arab nations on this occasion.
Sisi will also honor eight scholars from Egypt and the world who have been influential in the religious life through their thoughts and knowledge.
Tayyeb and Gomaa will also deliver a speech during the celebration on efforts to renew religious discourse and enhance the Islamic and humanitarian values in the society.
Muslims observe the Prophet Muhammed's birthday on the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi' al awwal.
