Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb will pay a visit to Senegal and Nigeria next week.
Considered as his first African tour since he assumed his post, the visit aims at establishing peace values and spreading the culture of dialogue.
During his visit, Tayyeb will meet with the Senegalese and Nigerian presidents, prime ministers as well as a number of senior officials from the African countries, according to a statement by Al Azhar on Tuesday.
Al Azhar Grand Imam will witness several events, activities and meetings that aim at promoting the values of tolerance and co-existence and stating the moderate values of Islam and its rejection of violence and terrorism, added the statement.
Also, Tayyeb will deliver a speech before top scholars and a large number of public figures addressing the African and Muslim peoples all over the world.
