The 37th summit of leaders of countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will kick off Tuesday to discuss the latest developments in the region.
GCC foreign ministers will meet later Monday to prepare for the summit and endorse its agenda.
The summit will be held under Bahraini King Hammad bin Issa al Khalifa.
The two-day event is important given the participation of the British prime minister, who received an invitation from King Hammad.
It will be her first visit to Bahrain since she assumed office.
