UAE, Saudi Ambassadors and Bahraini Charge d’affaires meet Turkish Minister
Ankara - Arab Today

The Ambassadors of the UAE and Saudi Arabia and the Bahraini Embassy’s Charge D'affaires in Turkey today met with Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.

They clarified to him the procedures and the steps taken by their three countries regarding severing their diplomatic and consular ties with Qatar, considering their commitment to combat terrorism and dry up the sources of its funding, as well as to fight extremism and the tools of its spread and promotion.

Their joint stance is the result of the continuation violation by the authorities in Doha of their official commitments and agreements, including their duty to not support or harbour elements or organisations that threaten the security of other countries, and ignoring the repeated calls for them to fulfil the agreed conditions of the Riyadh Agreement in 2013 and its executive procedures, as well as the complementary agreement in 2014, to support the national security of their countries from being targeted with destruction and chaos by terrorist individuals and organisations, located in or supported by Qatar.

The three countries also agreed to pro-actively face these attempts and confront any behaviour that threatens their national security and the stability of their people.

The two ambassadors and the charge d'affaires highlighted to Cavusoglu the support of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain to the Qatari people and the desire to prevent their suffering due to the consequences of their government’s actions, as the people of Qatar are a natural and noble extension of their brethren in the Arabian Gulf, and part of its roots and community fabric.

Their countries aim to be considerate to the humanitarian conditions of the Qatari people, due to the common ties between them and Qatar, they added.

The ambassadors listened to Cavusoglu about the Turkish Government’s report and its role in attempting to solve this crisis.
