Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai met on Thursday with Egyptian Ambassador to Thailand Hazem el Tahry, whose tenure will end early November.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the Thai minister praised efforts exerted by Tahry over the past period to boost cooperation between Bangkok and Cairo.
Thailand appreciates Egypt's hosting of 3,500 Thai students, who are studying at Al Azhar University, Pramudwinai said.
Tahry, meanwhile, called for boosting trade cooperation between the two countries in the coming period.
He also urged increasing Egypt's exports of potatoes, strawberries and cotton to the Asian country.
