President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Wednesday Libyan Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry attended the meeting, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
During the meeting, Sisi stressed support for maintaining Libya's full sovereignty and unity.
Sisi said Egypt prioritizes restoring stability to Libya, especially via supporting national institutions.
Sisi asserted that the Libyans are the only ones who have the right to self-determination, voicing confidence in the Libyan people's capability to overcome the challenge of building a powerful modern state.
During the meeting, Saleh posted Sisi on the latest developments in Libya and ongoing efforts to clinch a political solution to the Libyan crisis.
Saleh lauded efforts exerted by Egypt to support peace and stability in Libya, citing Egypt's hosting of various Libyan political parties who approved the Cairo declaration which focused on maintaining Libya's unity of lands and state institutions and renouncing all kinds of foreign interference.
Sisi said Egypt will spare no effort to help Libya settle its political crisis
