President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Monday New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully who arrived here earlier in the day on a visit to Egypt.
Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said the president welcomed New Zealand's official and shed light on relations of friendship between the two countries, hailing New Zealand's participation in the Multi-national Force of Observers (MFO) in Sinai.
The New Zealand's official praised the success Egypt has achieved at the political and economic levels as well as the success of security in Sinai to combat terrorism, said the spokesman.

According to the spokesman, the president called for backing the legitimate government in Libya militarily with working on halting arms supplies to the extremist groups in the Arab country.
On the Palestinian cause president asserted that solving the Palestinian problem would achieve stability in the region and end extremism.
For his part, the New Zealand official expressed his country's support for the UN Security Council's resolutions on the Palestinian cause.
