Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab held two separate meetings on Monday with Malawi's President Peter Mutharika and Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe on the sidelines of a COMESA meeting in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.
During his meeting with Malawi's president, Mahlab stressed Egypt's keenness to promote cooperation fields with Malawi within the framework of its moves to boost economic ties with the African countries.
The Egyptian premier proposed holding ministerial meetings to discuss ways of boosting bilateral relations, especially in the health, communications, electricity and agricultural fields.
Mahlab invited Malawi's president to attend a tripartite summit of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Southern Africa Development Community (SADAC) and East Africa Community (EAC), which will be held in June in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh.
He also invited him to attend the inauguration ceremony of the New Suez Canal project.
"Egypt is working on completing the political roadmap through accomplishing the parliamentary elections," Mahlab said, noting the ongoing efforts to fight terrorism.
For his part, Malawi's president stressed the deeply-rooted friendly relations between his country and Egypt.
He added that his country is preparing to hold an economic conference in mid 2015 and is looking forward to Egypt's participation.
The Egyptian premier also met with Zimbabwe's President Mugabe.
Mahlab stressed strong relations binding Egypt and Zimbabwe.
He invited Zimbabwe's president to attend the tripartite summit of COMESA, SADAC and EAC in June.
