Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have pledged to step up their cooperation and consultation in the fight against terrorism and on key bilateral as well as regional issues.

The issues came up for discussion during a meeting between Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Premier Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Sunday.
The two leaders also focused on economic cooperation within the framework of the Saudi Vision 2030.
“Security in the Middle East was one of the important topics on agenda,” said a report published by the Associated Press of Pakistan.
Besides closer cooperation in politics, economy, religion and culture, the two countries’ security is also intertwined and interdependent.
Riyadh and Islamabad are “close to each other culturally,” and must also focus on cultural cooperation, it said. “Pakistan has supported Saudi initiative on the formation of Islamic Military Alliance against terrorism and it is also a member of the alliance,” said Pakistani Ambassador Manzoor Ul Haq.
“The visit of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Pakistan is an important milestone in Saudi-Pakistani relations.”
During his stay in Pakistan, Prince Mohammed has had meetings with high-ranking Pakistani leaders and discussed strengthening of bilateral relations and enduring cooperation in various fields. Regional and international issues of mutual interest also came up for discussion.
The envoy said that the Kingdom and Pakistani enjoy historically a very friendly relations.
Referring to the growing ties, Ambassador Haq said that the presence of around 2.6 million Pakistanis in the Kingdom serves as bridge of friendship and greater understanding between the two countries.
