King Abdullah II of Jordan met with Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg and members of the alliance council, and discussed with them ties between Jordan and the alliance, especially the fight against terrorist organizations.
The meeting focused on means to strengthen NATO members' efforts with countries in the Middle East and Africa concerned with combatting terrorist organizations, (Petra) news agency reported.
King Abdullah stressed the importance of integrated cooperation between countries involved in the fight against terrorism, saying the war on terror.
He also emphasized that Muslim communities in Europe must be protected from Islamophobia and called for strengthening common denominators between followers of the various religions and building bridges of understanding and coexistence.
Stoltenberg and members of the NATO Council voiced the alliance's appreciation of its partnership and outstanding cooperation with Jordan, stressing that the alliance is keen on maintaining constant cooperation with Jordan.
They stressed the importance of strengthening Jordan's military capabilities and developing political dialogue with the Kingdom, which they said, a key partner of the NATO in maintaining security and stability in the Middle East.
