Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe
Sydney - Arab Today

Japan and Australia should advance free trade and boost collaboration on regenerative medicine, artificial intelligence and other fields, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said.

Speaking in a meeting in Sydney on Saturday with business leaders and other officials, Abe said the two countries have played leadership roles in negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade agreement, Japan's broadcaster (NHK World) reported.

He said that both governments have been working to improve systems and infrastructure to lead both the region and the world in encouraging free trade.

Abe also attended a meeting on tourism. The prime minister voiced hopes for increased exchanges between the two countries. He said that Japan and Australia are very attractive destinations as travelers from each country can experience opposite seasons with almost no time difference.
