Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi on Wednesday met OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo and the delegation currently accompanying him on a visit to Baghdad.
During the meeting, Abadi stressed the importance of OPEC's role and Iraq's continuous cooperation and support for it so as to raise the global price of oil.
In turn, Barkindo noted that Iraq has a significant role in reviving OPEC and is considered one of its major components, adding that Iraq is transparent in its oil exports and plays a vital role in the region.
