His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received Dr. Jochen Köckler, member of the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe AG, at the UNIDO 50th anniversary 2016 Expo in Vienna.

During the meeting, the Crown Prince highlighted the important role played by the exhibitions and events industry in advancing development across the Kingdom. The Crown Prince praised the sector’s significant contribution to the exchange of knowledge and expertise between Bahrain and its international and regional partners.

The Crown Prince emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to further expanding its MICE sector, adding that the Kingdom would continue to build on its strong track record in hosting and organising world-class conferences and exhibitions.

The Crown Prince spoke of ongoing efforts to develop innovative opportunities for youth and women in Bahrain, and added that the exhibitions and industry sector has helped encourage and develop entrepreneurial opportunities through the exchange of best practices and successful models across the region and worldwide.

The Crown Prince concluded by recognising the important role of the Hannover Messe international exhibition in promoting industrial advancement and the latest technological breakthroughs.
