The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee at the National Assembly, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Al Dhaw, received the UK ambassador to the Sudan Micheal Aron and reviewed with him means of boosting bilateral relations and ties between the two countries in the parliamentary domain.
The head of the committee pointed out following the meeting that he and ambassador agreed on developing relations in the parliamentary domain and in the areas of training and diplomacy
He commended the role played by the UK in achieving peace in the country
He said the head of the UK House of Lords invited head of the committee to visit the UK after the elections in the UK.
The ambassador on his part has renewed the commitment of his government to work with Thabo Mbeki, the Chairman of the African Union High Level Implementation PANAL along with the Troika group that brings together the Uk, USA and Norway and referred to the efforts deployed by the UK and Qatar to achieve peace in the Sudan and in Darfur in particular
The ambassador said what matters to his country is that the outcome of the National Dialogue comes in harmony with the road map put by Mbeki and his commission and that these outcome would create a positive climax e for boosting peace realization efforts in the country. He further referred to the importance of development of relations between Khartoum and London.
