Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi to discuss preparations and expected outcomes of the OIC extraordinary summit held in Jakarta.
In statements on Sunday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Shoukry, accompanied by a high-profile delegation, is currently visiting Jakarta to attend the summit that will aim to press on the international community to support Palestinian rights.
The meeting also followed up means of fostering bilateral relations in light of President Abdel Fatah El Sisi's recent visit to Indonesia.
The two top diplomats also held a press conference after their meeting.
