Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla discussed Thursday with Deputy Director-General for Energy at the European Union (EU) Commission Christopher Jones and his accompanying delegation the current cooperation spheres and means of boosting them within the upcoming phase.
The EU is regarded as one of Egypt's main partners in the energy sector.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed on a set of plans to be put into effect, topped by Egypt's national mega project to become a regional hub for trading and energy distribution in addition to Egypt's participation in energy conservation and rationalization sector.
The meeting tackled means of making use of renewable energy so that Egypt would have variety of energy sources.
They concluded the meeting by agreeing to form joint working groups aiming at implementing these goals.
