Deputy Premier receives Southern Governor

Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministerial Committee for Urbanisation and Infrastructure Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed the role of the governorates in assessing citizens’ needs and coordinating with ministries and government institutions to cater for them. He was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa who conveyed to him the governorate’s visions and plans to develop some services facilities and turn them into attractive touristic projects.

The Deputy Premier revealed that thanks to the leadership’s support, the Southern Governorate will witness strategic housing, educational, health, touristic and industrial projects in addition to developing the infrastructure. He hailed the development schemes which will be carried out by the Southern Governorate in partnership with the government institutions and which will combine the spirit of modernity with the authentic Bahraini identity.

The Southern Governor thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for the warm welcome, lauding his valuable directives and support to the Southern Governorate development programmes.

The meeting was attended by Director General of the Southern Municipality Assim Abdellatif.
