The rehabilitation operation of the old buildings of Algiers, which started in the beginning of the year, is an emergency to save the old buildings of Algiers after the earthquake of August 1st, said Tuesday the experts.
Launched in February, this urban renovation of Algiers’ old buildings has already allowed restoring several buildings of downtown Algiers, including those of Larbi Ben M’hidi Street.
This operation, budgeted at DZD5 billion, will know a speeding up of the rate of works to rapidly restore the most affected buildings.
The rehabilitation operation, which will involve hundreds of buildings of several streets and avenues, will focus at the moment on those of Larbi Ben M’hidi Street, linking la Grande Poste to Port Said Square.
