Sharjah - Arab Today

The Sharjah Department of Culture and Information is organising the 14th session of the Sharjah Narrative Forum in the Egyptian city of Luxor, as part of the city’s celebrations as the "Capital of Arab Culture" in 2017.

The forum, held under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, will take place from 2nd to 4th October at the Public Library in Luxor, with the participation of many Arab and Foreign critics who will discuss several topics, as well as hold readings by several authors in the field.

Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information, said that the Sharjah Narrative Forum will be held for the first-time outside Sharjah, based on the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed to hold and organise it in other Arab cities, providing many Arab artists the opportunity to participate in the event.

Al Owais stressed that Sharjah’s participation with Luxor in its celebrations as the Capital of Arab Culture will continue over the course of the year, and will include events organised by the "House of Poetry" in Luxor.

The forum’s programme will also include diverse activities and will begin with speeches from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, the Governorate of Luxor and the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information.
