"Knowledge Without Borders" project and the Sharjah Media centre announce the launch of Best Home Library in the emirate of Sharjah. The first initiative of its kind in the UAE that comes under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and is chaired by Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qassimi, Head of Knowledge Without Borders Organizing Committee. This came in a dialogue with the press organized by Sharjah media Centre in the presence of Rashid Alkous , Project Manager of Knowledge Without Borders, and Osama Samra, director of the Sharjah Media Centre, and a number of local media in the country. The idea of launching the initiative came within the objectives of the Organizing Committee of Knowledge Without Borders that hopes to keep the habit of reading among members of the community from their homes and their own libraries to ensure that the project is created according to precise standards and careful studies. The Project manager of Knowledge Without Borders stated : "The Best Home Library, is a reflection of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah to light every home with the light of learning and knowledge through the provision of a library per family which includes among its elements interesting and useful information in the world of the books, and works to enhance the sophistication of the community in the Emirate of Sharjah, which describes the tendencies and trends in reading habits. Alkous assured "The award is to implement and supplement the directions of by H.E. Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qassimi, Head of Knowledge Without Borders Organizing Committee and features aims that are adopted by the project and it works to upgrade the emirate culturally and intellectually, and this award will help promote Sharjah to the title of capital of Arab culture for 2014. Alkous: "The award carries with it many of the concepts that promote the importance of reading and its role in the process of intellectual growth and to deepen public knowledge in children and all members of the community, and through it we are to achieve the objectives of the project to motivate families to develop their skills of literacy through the provision of family libraries, as well as to encourage interest in the home libraries that work to create the cultural spirit of competition they have" He also added that this award is a chance to reveal about the Knowledge that each family has in the emirate where registration is starting end of june and ending in September 2012.
