Rome's oldest film festival, which comes of age this year in its 18th edition, is set to light up the capital between 19 - 28 October. Confirmed venues for MedFilm, the only one of its kind dedicated to Mediterranean cinema and cultural relations around its shores, are Rome's Auditorium and Casa Del Cinema. Promoting artistic and cultural dialogue between Europe and the Mediterranean, the festival features 85 titles comprised of feature films, shorts and documentaries, accompanied by their filmmakers. Traditionally the festival features two countries of honor, from the north and south Mediterranean. Slovenia represents this year's European side. Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, countries with which MedFilm has over the past 18 years forged strong alliances, represent the south. From the latter come testimonies from last year's Arab Spring. One of the main themes of MedFilm's 'journey of content', which runs from the Balkans along the Sahara, and as far as the East, is to highlight change in the Euro-Mediterranean area.
