The Syrian Cultural Center in Tehran, in coordination with Iran branch of the National Union of Syrian Students organized a plastic art exhibition on Syria at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. The exhibition coincided with a graduation ceremony of a batch of Syrian and foreign students in Iran. The exhibition showcased art paintings and paintings depicting Syria's archeological and tourist sites, in addition to Syrian traditional costumes. Paintings depicting the destruction wrought to the infrastructure due to terrorist attacks were also showcased in the exhibition. The Iranian Minister of Higher Education thanked the organizers of the Syrian exhibition which was one of the best participant exhibitions as evidenced by the huge turnout. Director of the Syrian Cultural Center in Tehran, Afif Haidar underscored in a speech the importance of scientific and cultural exchange between Syria and Iran. Haidar emphasized the importance of art exhibitions in reflecting the cultural and scientific reality of societies, affirming that science and culture spur the rise and progress of nations.
