Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting talking to the Ambassador of Egypt H.E. Fadel Ahmed Yakoub who called on him here Wednesday, expressed his keenness to promote cultural relations with Egypt.
He said that promotion of cultural ties was vital to strengthen existing bond between people of both the countries.
The Information Minister emphasized the need for collaboration with Egypt in the co-production of films and dramas, which he stressed, were very effective and among the greatest mediums for projecting cultural moors and values of any society.
The minister also proposed exchange of visits of film producers with a view to learn from each other’s technical expertise and to promote entertainment industries of both the countries.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that Pakistan and Egypt enjoyed close fraternal relations, deeply rooted in shared history, culture and heritage and Pakistan would like to further build them in areas mutually beneficial to the two brotherly countries.
The ambassador said that Pakistan and Egypt shared historical relationship and expressed the hope that during the tenure of the present government, brotherly bonds between the two countries would gain more vitality.
He congratulated the minister on his assumption of charge as minister for information and broadcasting, and wished him good luck for all his future endeavours.
The ambassador also wished success to the current dispensation in regards to the implementation of its reform agenda.
Ambassador Fadel Ahmed Yakoub extended invitation to the minister for visit to Egypt which he accepted.
