The 2012 edition of the online Italian graphic design contest ‘Social Design Poster’ is scheduled to display posters by a number of Iranian artists during the summer. Works by Ali Masoumbigi, Babak Safari, Bahman Nazemzadeh, Ehsan Mahdavi, Erfan Kamali, Farhang Khashai, Farzad Hamidimanesh, Milad Askari and Saeed Behdad will be showcased at the event. This year’s contest is held under the title of 'Seeds of Peace: the Healing Power of Dialogue' and tries to "reach the great purpose of the well-being of all humankind." According to the organizers of the event, Social Design Poster is a project that aims to spread the culture of graphic design and, at the same time, to develop the dialogue on important topical issues. More than 600 posters from different countries were submitted for the contest’s exhibition. The jury panel, however, selected 70 works. The jury panel of the event has also agreed to select the Hungarian artist Anna Gizella Varga as the absolute winner of the competition. The Social Design Poster was created in 2008 by Sergio Olivotti, adjunct Professor at the Politecnico di Milano and Professor of Graphic Design at Istituto Secondario Superiore in Finale Ligure. Further details regarding the location and dates of the exhibition are yet to be announced.
