Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese partook in the meeting of heads of Eastern churches held here to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.
The participants tackled the conditions of churches and Copts in the Middle East and ways of boosting cooperation between the churches.
Pope Tawadros II arrived here on Monday, on his first visit to Armenia since taking over the papal seat in November 2012.
Purported by Turkey’s former Ottoman government, the genocide saw 1.5 million Armenians systematically killed by 1915.
