Egypt's Ambassador in New Delhi Hatem Tag el Din discussed on Friday with Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations of the Indian Foreign Ministry Ambassador Satish Mehta ways of fostering the bilateral cultural ties and activating cultural and scientific cooperation protocol between them.
This came during the meeting held between the Egyptian diplomat and the Indian official in India and attended by chairman of the Egyptian cultural office, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Also,they mulled over the issue of increasing the number of scholarships offered by the Indian Government to the Egyptian students.
For his part, the Indian official expressed his country's desire to bring in Egyptian university professors to study at the Indian universities due to the good reputation enjoyed by the Egyptian Education.
The Egyptian diplomat pointed to the two countries' keenness to promote cooperation in the field of Arabic and Islamic studies through dispatching Azhar envoys to India to propagate the tolerant teachings of Islam.
Tag el Din informed Mehta about the 20 Egyptian scholarships offered to Indian students in Egypt and how the Indian side could make good use of them.
