The Egyptian Council of Churches on Thursday greeted President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and all Egyptians on the planned inauguration of the New Suez Canal.
"The world will witness after seven days the greatest and most important achievement in this century by the inauguration of the New Suez Canal," the council's Secretary General Pastor Bishoi Helmi said.
The Egyptians proved to the whole world that they restored their pioneering and they are able to challenge and achieve, he added.
Egypt will inaugurate the New Suez Canal on August 6, which will massively increase the capacity of the existing canal and offer an important chance to boost the country’s struggling economy.
