The Dar Al Ber Society (DABS), has announced its active participation in the 33rd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, running from November 5th to 15th at the Sharjah Expo Centre.
The Activities and Events Department at the Culture and Studies Sector showcased many DABS publications reflecting the vision, strategy and goals of the 35-year-old charity association run by the Dubai government.
Imran Mohammed Abdullah, Board Member and Head of Culture and Studies Sector, DABS, said they are very keen to partake in the leading cultural extravaganza which has become a major scientific and enlightening hub in the region.
"H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, gives much attention to the international book fair and he personally inaugurates it every year." "The premier event, regionally and internationally accredited for its exceptional organisation and incessant development, gives students a precious chance to enjoy an agenda of diverse activities, lectures, forums, seminars, books and literary courses," he added.
"The event, gaining popularity with thousands of publishers, scientists, men of letters, authors, writers, and intellectual men from across the globe, coincides with the celebration of Sharjah as the Capital of Islamic Culture in appreciation of its pioneering role in spreading the values and culture of Islam on the international stage." Imran said they proudly displayed all the scientific and cultural publications of the Dar Al Ber Society, including books, series, brochures, theses as well as the four sizes (pocket, medium, big, and Tahajud) of the DABS version of the Holy Quran.
"The Society, in line with its over 35-year history in preaching and charitable activities, has printed out over 6,500,000 copies of the Dar Al Ber version of the Holy Quran and gifted them to Muslims around the world, and even distributed some for free at its pavilion in the Sharjah International Book Fair." Imran said they showcased 12 volumes of university studies, researches, theses, along with many booklets, brochures, and CDs with select recitations of the Holy Quran and lectures.
"The multi-lingual publications of the Islamic Information Centre are gifted as well to visitors, new Muslims, and children of foreign communities to educate them about the tolerant and merciful teachings of Islam, and the biography of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)." Imran then urged philanthropists in the UAE to generously give to the charitable and humanitarian projects of the Dar Al Ber Society as advised in the Holy Quran and Sunnah to cooperate in righteousness and piety.
