Britain Tuesday said that it would soon unveil the statue of India's independence icon Mahatma Gandhi outside the British Parliament to honor the 'Father of the nation'.
Visiting British Chancellor George Osborne announced the news on social media site Twitter, saying that London would "honour his (Gandhi's) memory with statue in front of mother of parliaments" in Parliament Square at the heart of the British capital.
So, Gandhi, who played a key role in helping India win its independence from Britain in 1947 following a non-violence movement, will soon stand near the figure of his one-time nemesis, British wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
