Tunis - Tap

Two co-operation agreements in the heritage and archeological fields were signed, on Monday in Tunis, between Tunisia's National Heritage Institute and the Rome-based German Historical Institute, with attendance of Culture Minister Ezzeddine Bach Chaouch and Germany's Ambassador in Tunis. The first agreement regards the Carthage archeological site, particularly a monument dating back to the early era of the Phoenician and Punic civilisations. The second one concerns the Chemtou site, Jendouba governorate, notably the monuments of the Numidian and Roman city. These agreements, which also include a joint research and partnership programme, aim to develop archeological excavations and scientific research, as part of reinforcing and diversifying cultural co-operation between Tunisia and Germany.
