Mexican Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Meade opened Tuesday the Arab Cultural Week in Mexico.
Kuwait's Embassy in Mexico said in a statement received by KUNA, that this opening, attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Mexico Samih Johar Hayat, had coincided with the Arab League's 70th anniversary.
The Mexican Foreign Minister, in his opening speech, said that the impact of the Arab culture on the whole world was very obvious, adding that an example of such impact was the fact that Arabic was one of the main languages used in education and knowledge in the seventh century.
He said that knowledge in the Arab and Muslim world had influenced the renaissance era, impacting the scientific and cultural development in Europe and the world.
Ambassador Hayat, in a speech on behalf of the Arab ambassadors, expressed deep thanks to the Mexican foreign minister and senior officials of the Mexican government for their participation to the success of the Arab week.
Hayat pointed out that the history of Arab-Mexican relations over the past 70 years witnessed significant developments.
