Algerian writer praises Sharjah International Book Fair
Sharjah - WAM

The Algerian novelist, short story writer and academic, Waciny Laredj, has said that the Sharjah International Book Fair, SIBF, whose 36th edition begins tomorrow at the Expo Centre Sharjah, is a vital link between Arab and international culture while expressing his happiness at being able to participate in the fair.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, he added that the SIBF would comprise a select audience involved in the modern cultural scene, including children, who represent the future generation and are a vital segment of the fair’s visitors.

He went on to say that the SIBF has become an essential link between Arab and international culture, and many cultural, intellectual and social experiences will play an important role at the fair. Laredj affirmed that his participation in the global event would be to promote his biographies, considered an important part of the region’s literature.

Laredj is a renowned writer and novelist in the Arab world, and many of his works have been translated into other languages, including French, Italian, English, German, Danish and Spanish.
