Riyadh Gov. Prince Sattam approved 40 locations for the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr celebrations in the city. Riyadh Mayor Abdullah Al-Moqbel said the municipality will strive to do its best to implement the prince’s orders in hosting Eid festivals in municipal locations and enable people to enjoy their Eid holidays. Eid Al-Fitr, which marks the end of the annual fasting, falls on Aug. 20, according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar. He said the festivals would present 200 events, including artistic, heritage, drama, sports and folk programs, at 40 locations covering all districts in the city. The locations include open squares, parks, educational and sports facilities, cultural and social centers. Some of the locations will be reserved strictly for women and children’s programs, and women officials will supervise the women’s cultural and amusement programs. From: Arabnews
