For the first time since the beginning of the year, US oil prices dropped below USD 50 a barrel .
According to New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) the Crude Oils Future Quotes opened at USD 50.22 a barrel to finish the day with a loss of more than USD 0.60 to settle below USD 50 for the first time since December.
