The Hague - KUNA

--Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah met here on Thursday with Upstream International Director of the Royal Dutch Shell plc. Andrew Brown and the group's Government Relations Manager John Crocker to discuss cooperation in the oil industry. The talks dealt with Shell's operations inside and outside Kuwait with emphasis on the development of oilfields and the training of oil workers, said CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) Nizar Al-Adsani who attended the meeting. "The First deputy Premier recommended taking advantage of Shell's technical resources in the development of Kuwait's Burgan oilfield and the western oilfields," Al-Adsani told KUNA. He noted that KPC and Shell signed early this month a contract on the importation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Kuwait to meet the country's growing needs of energy in summer. The meeting also gathered Director of the Foreign Ministry's Europe Affairs Department Ambassador Walid Al-Khubaizi, Kuwait Ambassador to the Netherlands Hafeeth Al-Ajmi and Director General of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Sheikh Dr. Mishaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
